Group Texting Pro – Now available on the iPhone App Store!

Posted by: matt In: iPhone Applications| software| tech gadgets ()

grouptextingMy newest iPhone Application has been launched to the App Store. Group Texting Pro allows you to quickly and easily text groups of friends, without having to select all of their names each time. Check it out and let me know what you think!

________________________________________________________________

Do you ever end up texting the same group of friends over and over? Isn’t it annoying when you have to type in each person’s name or phone number each time? This process can be time confusing and frustrating.

If you want to solve the above problem, then Group Texting is for you! Group Texting allows you to create groups of people from your address book that you text frequently, and at one press of a button, you can text them all at the same time!

Group Texting has a simple and easy interface allowing you to manage your groups of friends and text them. If you have a group of friends that you usually text on a regular basis, why not buy this app? It will save you a ton of time, and is definitely worth the cost!

In Group Texting you can do the following

  • Create an unlimited number of groups
  • Groups can contain anyone from your address book
  • You can easily add or remove people to your groups
  • You can select any group that you have created, and click ‘Send Text’. This will pop up the SMS interface, allowing you to quickly and easily send them all a text message.

Group Texting is a must-have app for anyone who spends a lot of time texting!

I just downloaded your app. Looks like a fairly simple/easy to use interface. Is there any way that I can remove members from a group on the fly (without having to delete them permanantly) For instance, if I make a group for my friends and I want to text them to go out but I know that 2-3 of them are busy and I don’t want to bother them; is there a way I can unselect them before I send a message?

Thanks

Hi Bryan, currently there is no way to do this, but I like the idea, so I can possibly include it in the next revision of Group Texting Pro. Thanks for the feedback! Also, if you like Group Texting Pro, please take the time to rate it so that other people can find it easier on the App Store.

I’m about to buy this, but there is one review that says that you cannot text to more than 10 people at a time. Is this true? If so will this be changed in the future?

Hi Ken, The app does let you text more than 10 people at once. I have had reports from one user that he is satisfied with the app, as it allows him to text 85 people at once. There appears to be an AT&T limitation, where if you have the actual ‘Group Messaging’ functionality turned on in the Settings application, then you can only text up to 10 people at once. If you turn this to off, then it should work. Let me know if you have other questions

Hi Matt – Group Texting Pro will choose either the ‘mobile number’ or the ‘iPhone number’, whichever is populated. Currently there is no way to tell the app to use a different number

Hi Butch – Sorry you are having trouble. I haven’t had this report from any other users, and I cannot re-produce it here on my phone. Could you do me a favor and send me your crash logs? I sent you an email with instructions on how you can do this. Thanks!

Matt,
I was so excited about this app bc I have to text 100 teenagers each week for youth group. I created my group, tried it once, and it worked. Now I need to use it again, and it will NOT open. It says it’s loading my groups and then shuts down. I’ve tried it like 10 times and it won’t open. Any suggestions? :(

Hi Holly – There is a bug in the 1.1 version which I have since fixed. The update should be in the AppStore today. Can you try it out and let me know if it is working for you once you get the 1.2 update?

Okay I believe I finally figured out what is going on. I submitted a fix to Apple which should be available within the next few days. In the meantime, please email me for support if you want a fix sooner. I can send you a fix for it if you would like me to (it takes a bit of work to install it though)

Matt-

I love the app! I did notice that I cannot select a letter like “R” to pull up those contacts. The entire scroll bar lights up but unlike the address book from Apple, I cannot select on a letter range to skip ahead. I am using GT vers 1.3. Am I doing something wrong? I have over 600 contacts in my address book, and I have to scroll down 70+ pages to get to the “W” contacts. Thanks! Luey

Hi Matt, How would I send emails to several groups at once using Groups 2.1? These groups are already pre-existing in Contacts – that is, they are from Address Book from my Mac.

Hi Luis,
I am currently looking into this issue and will let you know when I have a fix. Sorry for the inconvenience! It seems to only happen to people who have many contacts

Hi Paul,
I am not sure I understand your question. My app only does text messaging, and there is currently not an option to select more than one group at once…but I could consider that to be a feature for a later release. Thanks
